Upper Gastric Pain
Ok for as long as I can remember I get these pains. I was seeing a Gastro DR but honestly it did nothing for me. They did take out my gaul bladder and say ok everything will be fine. WELL ITS NOT!! I get these very very sharp pains right under my breast area. It hurts so bad sometimes that my food comes back up. If I ate and I get these pains my food will definitly come back up. It hurts so bad. The pain is right under my breasts right in the middle. When I get the pain I cant even touch that part of my body because it is so sensitive. Has anyone ever had this?? I have been on everything thinking its acid reflux and what not. I have used Nexium, Prevacid, Zantac and this stuff that like a powder NOTHING helps! Someone please help I cant take the pain ANYMORE!! Its becoming so frequent that I can barely eat!!

I am so sorry you are having pain like this. I would continue to look for answers. It could be many things, and you need a gastro doc that listens to you. I went with pain for two years, and finally got a gastro doc that listened. He found ulcers during a endoscopy (none of the others thought that test was necessary), then a problem with a hernia repair from a CAT scan. Keep looking, don’t give up. You know something is wrong, and you deserve someone who will listen to you and provide a proper diagnosis. Hope this helps!

Amanda, concerning the problem with the hernia repair-do you mean that you had a hiatal hernia? Sorry if that is a silly question..

No it was an incisional/umbilical hernia. Upper abdomen.

I might be completely mistaken about this but it seems when I was having my gall bladder removed, the doctor said it might still be possible to have a stone remaining, one that was in the duct or whatever that was missed during surgery. Has the doctor taken another ultrasound to make sure?
I’ve never had an ulcer but have you been checked for that as well. You definitely need to switch gastric doctors. It doesn’t sound as if this one is taking you seriously enough.
